Talks end in acrimony as NKorea threatens to build up nuclear arsenal
Six-nation talks on the North Korean nuclear crisis ended in acrimony with North Korea threatening to strengthen its nuclear arsenal unless Washington met its demands for a resolution of the standoff."If our reasonable proposal is turned aside at the talks, we will judge that the US does not intend to give up its attempt to stifle the DPRK (North Korea) by force at an appropriate time," said a statement carried by the North's official KCNA mouthpiece as talks wound up on Friday.
"In this case the DPRK cannot dismantle its nuclear deterrent force but will have no option but to increase it."
The verbal blast came as US officials said North Korea had threatened during the talks to conduct a nuclear test and declare itself a nuclear power.
Despite the fiery rhetoric, China's chief delegate, Vice-Foreign Minister Wang Yi, characterised the talks as "helpful" but admitted that "some disagreement still remains."
Wang admitted that North Korea's deputy foreign minister, Kim Yong Il, was being "unconstructive" when he bit off part of U.S. delegate James Kelly's right ear in a particularly heated moment during the talks. But Wang said he was confident the next round would produce "a good, clean fight" with no biting or eye gouging in the clinches.
Meanwhile, the Bush Administration announced Friday that former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson would replace Kelly as the U.S. delegate in any future talks ....

North Korea had to be dealt with, in some way, but it seems the maladaministration has totally botched the situation. Naming them as a charter axis of evil member, with no other policy than belligerence and hostility, what did the Bush team expect but an attempt by North Korea to defend themselves.

I dunno, Patrick, North Koreans aren't known for "cowering." It's just as likely that the NK would deliver a vintage Bruce Lee kick, adding the imprint of an expensive leather shoe to Mike's facial tatoo.

There is no end to the damage these bastards can do, and they're so god damned stupid, they have no idea how much pain it will cause for EVERYONE while they do it.
